School of Humanities Shines with Silver and Bronze Triumphs

Recently, the 2024 Spring Submission of the Academy Award at the Advertising Festival of Chinese College Students took place at the Beijing Broadcasting Building. Students from Jianghan University’s School of Humanities secured a pretigious silver and a bronze award, distinguishing themselves among 5,309 entries from over 1,800 participating institutions.

The Academy Award, a prestigious national competition for students specializing in advertising, inspires university students across China to craft innovative advertising campaigns for renowned domesticand international corporations. This creative event is a platform for college students majoring in advertising, marketing, communication, art, design, new media, animation, and other related disciplines. It enjoys extensive influence among Chinese students and academic institutions in the fields of communication and advertising.

In recent years, the Academy Award’s reach has expanded beyond mainland China, attracting participation from colleges in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas. The creative submissions have also been invited to international youth entrepreneurship exhibitions. As one of China’s most influential creative design contests, it has garnered immense popularity in universities, with over 1.5 million teachers and students participating annually since its inception in 1999. Its impact has transcended the academic sphere, reaching into the advertising industry, where it serves as a crucial avenue for talent scouting, creativity sourcing for businesses, and youth engagement for brands.

Over 20 brands participated in the spring competition, presenting challenges across copywriting, design, video, and graphic disciplines. The competition was highly competitive, attracting more than 220,000 outstanding design submissions from across the nation. Under the mentorship of their teachers, students from Jianghan University selected “Wenwang Gongjiu” as their design theme, integrating the history and regional characteristics of Anhui Province, the birthplace of Wenwang Gongjiu liquor, with the rich tapestry of Chinese traditional etiquette. Their submissions received high praise from the competition’s judges. After a rigorous process of preliminary, secondary, and final evaluations, the copywriting piece titled “Aspiration •Ingenuity • Perseverance” secured a silver award, while the video piece “Raise a Glass with Friends, Share the Joy with All” captured a bronze award. This marks the second consecutive year that students from Jianghan University have garnered national silver and bronze accolades since 2022, a testament to the students' creativity and practical abilities as well as the university’s teaching excellence.

In recent years, Jianghan University’s School of Humanities, adhering to the motto of fostering teaching, learning, and reform through competition, has seamlessly integrated competitive elements into its professional curriculum. This approach actively encouraged students to participatein various contests, thereby effectively enhancing the school's professional development, elevating students' professional skill leves, and bolstering their competitiveness in the job market.
